looking into the future

If I ever get married, I'll have a dress made for me just like this 1949 Christian Dior gown (but in white, of course).
I think it is SO tasteful ... plus, I've been in love with it for the past 2 or 3 years haha

new family member

So I finally gave into the whole sandal-boot hybrid.
I'm very satisfied with this buy.
I mean, the color's great, they fit perfectly, they are tall enough to look tall but not to kill myself if I fall ...
I think I could go on and on and on and on about the marvels of this pair of shoes.
So instead, I'll just leave you with some photos of the new acquisition.
(And by the way, they're made with a biodegradable material: yute ... which means they're good for me AND for the environment!).

wishlist item 1

So, does anybody want to donate to the "Let's Get Fernanda Lucila Her Favorite Pair Of Elizabeth & James Shoes"?
Your contributions would mean a lot to this foundation.
Ha.
So, I fell in love with these.
I'm probably gonna have to go look for a pair of look-alikes next week, when I finally have more than $20USD in my bank account again ... oh college, you make me poor.

new family member

These babies came home with me on Saturday.
They were my boyfriend's birthday present for me (:
I'll admit, though, that it wasn't love at first sight.
I saw them and loved the intricate way they looked on the foot, but ... suede? suede wedges?
Oh God, what if I get them wet? what if I want to wear them to the beach?
So, I decided to let those questions dissolve in my head and went ahead and got them.
They were too beautiful to pass up on them!
And besides, the color is so versatile!!!
I would have regretted it later ... and probably then would have returned for them, haha

Pour Aujord'hui

Wow, after five days of looking like a slob and sleeping about two hours per night, I finally got into some real clothes (aka, a skirt instead of my 6th grade PE shirt).

Shirt: Zara
Skirt: Forever 21
Wedges: Jessica Simpson (who would've thought: the line has pretty shoes and they last much longer than one might expect!)
Key Necklace: Tiffany & Co.
Hope, Faith, Love Necklace: no idea, it was a present
Belt: H&M

So, I'm almost done with exams week ....
AND
my 21st birthday is on Friday!!!
I'll probably just sleep through it, though.
I am way too tired to do anything.

Para el Día de Hoy

So, there is not really an outfit for today.
Truth be told, I wore random jeans, with my 6th grade P.E. shirt and a pair of oxfords....
There was no real imagination/creativity behind it; but I have an excuse: I had 4 projects due today (one more complicated than the other three--which were, in no way, at all easy).
Here are pictures of some of the projects I turned in:

Materials and Prototypes II class:

This is my tribute to the late Alexander McQueen.
I just hate it when people ask me if this was based on the "Lady Gaga" shoe ... ugh
Anyways, this was done with melted aluminum (which was placed into a type of cast or mold created with the styrofoam version of the above shoe I first made).
I couldn't make the actual heel because it would have broken off while getting the melted aluminum into the mold :(
But, oh well ... sh*t happens, no?
I sanded away and sanded away for about five hours in a row, and that was the end result.

This right here is a type of coat rack.
It is made from wood and stainless steel.

And, for my Inventor class:

The Guitar Hero battery set ...
We did this in a group of three people ... when we turned it in, the professor was kind enough to tell us that our team should have consisted of 5-6 people.
Oh well, I suppose he'll have mercy on us if there are some mistakes here and there.

Wow, even though I HATE the stress of getting things done, I LOVE it when they are completed.
I love being an Industrial Design student.
I wouldn't change it for the world!

argh ...

It's because of project like these:

that I have HUGE bags under my eyes, have looked like a cleaning lady since Sunday, and have no excitement whatsoever about my upcoming birthday.

School makes me want to SCREAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAM

Blouse: Kitson
Jeans: Forever 21
Cardigan: Abercrombie & Fitch
Wedges: Beverly Feldman
Love, Hope, Faith necklace: no idea, it was a present (:

I hope that you're doing better than me!!!!
It's almost summer!! Thank goodness!

Sunday, April 18, 2010

It's Sunday ...

I've been in school since 1:00pm, and it looks like I'm not leaving until tomorrow.

I.
Hate.
Exams.
Week.
:(

Friday, April 16, 2010

ummmm....

So, I should be doing my makeup right now so that when my boyfriend gets here, we could just go the our get-together with our swimming "family".
But, alas, I am way too lazy.
And just thinking about the fact that I have to wake up early tomorrow for Social Service doesn't inspire me to do anything at all.
Oh well, at least I'm wearing my comfiest, suuuuuper wide-legged trousers (:
They're truly perfect... I'll post pictures later (or tomorrow).

On another note, this was today's outfit:

Striped blouse: Kitson
Skirt: Tracy Evans (flea market)
Rainboots: coach (I know, we've seen them too much already)
Tights: I have no idea, I got them in NYC

Pour Aujord'hui (okay, yes, technically yesterday)

Shirt: little boys' section at Wal-Mart
Pants: Habitual
Jacket: Vero Solis
Shoes: Rampage
Ring: Monterrey, México market
I had to change out of those shoes because of the rain. So yeah, fun fun fun, all this rain ... not! :P
Damn, I'll be 21 in 7 days. This is so crazy! I feel like it was yesterday that I turned 20.
Plus, I still cannot believe the semester is almost over. I mean, I still feel like we're barely getting halfway there.
And in one month I'll be celebrating the first year with my boyfriend.

help, help, help

This is kind of urgent ... if you had to choose one of the above sketched shoes to further develop the idea, which one would you choose?

Para el Día de Hoy

Look! That's my dog, Guille (if you've ever heard of Mafalda, you know who Guille is), making a guest appearance on the blog.
He's five years old already (:
So Monterrey's been real gray lately, and my outfits keep featuring jackets and boots ... thank goodness for cute jackets and boots :P

Boots: Coach

Si Hasta El Fin Del Mundo Estás

Welcome to Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca.
Puerto Escondido is truly one of the most beautiful places I've ever visited, all around the world.
I cannot wait to go back.
And if you, or a friend, or your boyfriend enjoy(s) surfing, this is the IT spot, not that I actually know anything about surf.
Besides, before getting there you have to stop at Oaxaca (the capital of the state of Oaxaca).
It is SO full of culture. I'm jealous.
I wish my state had more culture, besides being the first state in Mexico to have an H-E-B or one of the most dangerous ones to live in at the moment. blah...

Pour Aujord'hui

Yup, we're still in need of the cold related clothes.

Why, hello there, you beautiful sun coming up through the Cerro de la Silla some years ago.
I have a question for you: will I ever see you again or is it going to be gray until next winter?
Thank you for your time!

Para el Día de Hoy

It's raining once again here in Monterrey.
So of course I wore my rainboots, and thank goodness for that!
There was a huge puddle right at the entrance of the architecture building (an ungodly place, that used to be a warehouse and is full of leaks, where all the architects and some industrial designers take classes), so at least I didn't ruin a good pair of shoes (:

Sweater: Simply Vera by Vera Wang

new family member

I had a traumatizing experience today.
I was supposed to "model" some clothes (for 5 hours and a pay of ~17 USD .. wtf?).
My first outfit was a CAMO dress! Only hunters (like my boyfriend) should wear camo.
Then I wore a pair of shorts with a very cute top.
And lastly, I wore a romper ... with the most hideous print EVER.
Needless to say, I left early. After the third hour came around, I got off the platform, changed into my clothes, and left without saying goodbye or even looking back at the other girls (who by this time were dancing reggaeton in a very ... "amusing" way).

So, to vent out and qualm my nerves after this terrible experience, I decided to get myself a new pair of shoes.
I think we all know who/what the designers of this pair were inspired by... nevertheless, they're good quality and I fell in love with them ... and for $115 USD, they seemed like a great bargain.

So, my boyfriend and I stayed to watch movies (he picked The Marine 2, I fell asleep and didn't watch the movie I picked).

O.A.XA.CA.

I am Mexican, I've always lived in Mexico, but I've never really travelled in Mexico (one of the downsides of being from a border-city).
During Holy Week, I went to Oaxaca, Oaxaca and Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca.
These are some of the pictures I took at Oaxaca, Oaxaca.

Umm, it's already April.
So, please, stop being cold outside!!
