Para el Día de Hoy

Yay!!! It's sunny outside again!!!! :D
So of course I took the opportunity to wear my big, red, floppy hat --that I bought in Oaxaca-- again.
Where did I go? The supermarket, we needed some chicken.
I think it's kind of sad how nowadays so many people decide that sweatpants/shorts + tennis shoes + "bebe" shirts are propper attire for the banal things.
Maybe that's not so where you live, but many women in Monterrey have decided that this is totally acceptable, even popular!
I've seen my share of terrible velour sweatpants with "Juicy" stamped accross the ass to ever want to wear one myself.

Oh, and by the way, people stared at me the whole time I was in there.
I wish someone had taken a photo.
I must have looked so funny next to them.

I am a home-loving person. I used to be a big party animal, but that was only for my first three and a half semesters of college.
Then I just realized that I wasn't really meant to get drunk and whore around every weekend. It got too tiring.
Anyways, last night I went to a party and I tried Tinja's mini tutorial for the smoky eye (even though I used much lighter colors, because of the outfit).
I think it looked alright, and several people asked me if someone else did if for me, so maybe I did get it kind of right (:
And I was feeling so positive about today's game that I wore almost everything by Mexican designers/companies.
Now we'll have to wait until Brasil 2014 for another shot at the World Cup.

Yesterday was my first year "anniversary" with my boyfriend. I say "anniversary" because that word always makes me think of married couples, I don't know why.
We had a nice, quiet evening, because that's what we like to do: veg out in the couch in front of the T.V.
But of course, before that we went out for dinner. Wow.
That was a great restaurant we went to. If you are ever in Monterrey, Nuevo León, make sure you go to the El Lingote restaurant in Parque Fundidora's Horno 3.
Obviously there's a lot of other good restaurants, but the food here was exquisite (well, that is if you like steaks).

Oh, and btw, it rained while we were there, so when going back to the car we were completely soaked from head to toe (my shoes!!!!).
Then we got home and ate ice cream (:
And I'm not getting sick, yay!

Tomorrow (Saturday) is my one year anniversary with my amazing boyfriend (:
And on Monday, I have to start packing up my things to move into the new house yayyy!! :D

Sandals: Brantano

Pour La Soirée du Vendredi

So, way back when I was still in high school, I never would've been caught [willingly] wearing a dress. Unless it was because I had to (e.g., homecomings, proms, banquets, etc).

I was a tomboy (and a nerd), and I don't really blame anyone.
I think it was because I was on the swim team and I got along way better with the boys than with the girls. So, I was kind of a tennis shoes addict (yes, shoe addiction ... in a different manner, but still) and would always go around in jeans and tshirts.
Nowadays I take any opportunity to wear my cutest outfits, and Friday night was no exception.

Finals are over.
School is over.

School's out for summer!! (remember that song?)

Isn't the eyelet just plain beautiful??

Dress: Betsey Johnson
Sandals: Brantano (even though I've mentioned them before, this was my first time wearing them)
Belt: it came with a pair of pants
Ring: got it at a market back home

Para el Día de Hoy

And. So. You're. Back.
From outerspace!

Well, no... I'm not back from outerspace, I'm just back from the Industrial Design workshops at school.
We had to make a structure for an ice bucket. My partner and I decided to make a beehive.
But to do it, I had to go school in jeans, tennis shoes, and old high school shirts for six days. Because I obviously didn't want to ruin my clothes.
So today, after being free from the workshops, I decided to wear something super girly! haha, I deserved it ;)

Sandals: Brantano

Pour Aujord'hui

Yup, I know I've been MIA lately, but you must understand that those final projects are not going to get themselves done by magic (even though I wish it were that way).

But today is my boyfriend's grandfather's birthday, so we went to their quinta for a meal and a dip in the pool. Which means that I finally got to wear that didn't include jeans or tennis shoes, which is what I've been wearing every day since Wednesday to the I.D. workshops.

Dress: H&M
Sandals: Brantano
Floppy Hat: got it at a market in Oaxaca, Oaxaca
Bag: Zara
Bracelet: got it a random boutique in South Padre Island, TX

I love this dress, even though it's 2 sizes too big on me. The fabric makes me think that it was an eight-year-old who painted it with watercolors. I think it's lovely! :)

new family member

So I finally gave into the whole sandal-boot hybrid.
I'm very satisfied with this buy.
I mean, the color's great, they fit perfectly, they are tall enough to look tall but not to kill myself if I fall ...
I think I could go on and on and on and on about the marvels of this pair of shoes.
So instead, I'll just leave you with some photos of the new acquisition.
(And by the way, they're made with a biodegradable material: yute ... which means they're good for me AND for the environment!).

new family member

I had a traumatizing experience today.
I was supposed to "model" some clothes (for 5 hours and a pay of ~17 USD .. wtf?).
My first outfit was a CAMO dress! Only hunters (like my boyfriend) should wear camo.
Then I wore a pair of shorts with a very cute top.
And lastly, I wore a romper ... with the most hideous print EVER.
Needless to say, I left early. After the third hour came around, I got off the platform, changed into my clothes, and left without saying goodbye or even looking back at the other girls (who by this time were dancing reggaeton in a very ... "amusing" way).

So, to vent out and qualm my nerves after this terrible experience, I decided to get myself a new pair of shoes.
I think we all know who/what the designers of this pair were inspired by... nevertheless, they're good quality and I fell in love with them ... and for $115 USD, they seemed like a great bargain.
