Para el Día de Hoy

For those of you who do not know this past Wednesday, we (Mexicans) celebrated "200"  years of the "Independence" of Mexico (although to be fair, it was the fight for Independence that started 200 years ago, it wasn't the actual year we became independent).
So to celebrate this grand occasion, we had a "carne asada" at the boyfriend's house (because it would have been very silly to go out with all the insecurity in this city, however I am pleased to say that the "bad guys" didn't ruin the festivities).
And of course, guess what happened about halfway into the carne asada, after the logs and the charcoal were already lit up .... MY HEEL BROKE :(
The boyfriend had to drive me home so I could get another pair of shoes ... of course, that wasn't after he suggested I go around the carne asada with the broken heel -.-'
I leave you with some photos of the outfit I'm wearing today.

Yesterday I was lucky enough to go home so I could get some shopping done. Of course, with less than $200USD because of the peso-dollar exchange rate, I could only buy things at Forever 21. Not that I mind, except that I feel like a walking mannequin for F21 ... they should start paying me.
Anyways, these photos were taking at my old house, the one where I used to live in before I left for college.
That is the place where I lived all through jr. high and high school, that's where I had my first parties, get-togethers, hangovers, etc.
It's one of the [very] few things I actually miss from my hometown.

Striped shirt: Kitson
Jeans: Forever 21 (walking mannequin!!!)
Wedges: Betsey Johnson (yes, I did wear them all day long)
Necklace: Tiffany & Co.
Watch: Swarovski (it stopped at 2:25pm, I didn't notice that until 9:40pm)

ummmm....

So, I should be doing my makeup right now so that when my boyfriend gets here, we could just go the our get-together with our swimming "family".
But, alas, I am way too lazy.
And just thinking about the fact that I have to wake up early tomorrow for Social Service doesn't inspire me to do anything at all.
Oh well, at least I'm wearing my comfiest, suuuuuper wide-legged trousers (:
They're truly perfect... I'll post pictures later (or tomorrow).

On another note, this was today's outfit:

Striped blouse: Kitson
Skirt: Tracy Evans (flea market)
Rainboots: coach (I know, we've seen them too much already)
Tights: I have no idea, I got them in NYC
