Pre-Fall(ing)

I'm sure that everyone out there who is interested in fashion and wants to be or is a part of it, takes a great amount of pleasure whenever it's runway season ... including the pre's.
Hey, it's like a forecast/preview of what we will see in a couple of months on the FW11 runways (which kicks off on Feb. 10th with NYFW, fyi).

Sometimes, these pre collections make it or break it for some of us ... you know what I mean.
And unfortunately, there is ONE designer though that totally broke it for me.

I've always been a fan of Diane von Furstenberg and actually saved up $500+ USD to buy a DVF maxi dress a couple of seasons ago (and then found it like at 70% off, yay for extra money!), but this pre-fall collection scared me.

I know the 70s are making a huge comeback, and I'm okay with it.
(Personally, I still prefer the 50s+80s combo I've been falling in love with for some months now.)
But I digress. I understand that DVF's inspiration was, as creative director Yvan Mispelaere says, "the glorious American sportswear of the 1970's ... Diane's focus, then as now, is on the working girl, and easy clothes to go to work with."
However, I still can't help but just seeing Daphne from Scooby Doo popping up in every single outfit of the pre-fall collection.
I'm afraid, because while MAYBE I would wear SOME pieces of the collection ... I would see this as collection as a bit costumey and tired.
Pfff..

And ... I'm too lazy to translate my rant. Sorry!

(I loved this skirt)
